1. The unit I have chosen to reflect on is ‘Covering and Surrounding’. I chose this unit because it was a very easy, yet fun it was a fun unit. There were no games or special activities in this unit, but I for some reason, I just found it to be better than the other units.
2. I learned how to find the perimeter and area of a two-dimensional shape. The shape wasn’t just a square or rectangle; it could’ve been a triangle or a trapezoid as well. I learned many different methods to find area and perimeter.
3. This could impact and help you in life because, if you are building something, like a house, you would want to know the area and perimeter of the walls, ceilings, and floors.
4. We would do reflections on the investigations (lessons) that we were working on. We would answer questions that were about the main focus of that investigation.
Here is the first out of the three questions from the Investigation 3 Reflection: Describe an efficient way to find the area of a triangle. Be sure to mention the measurements you would need to make and how you would use them to find the area. Explain why your method works. Investigation 1 was about finding the area and perimeters of figures made of square tiles. Investigation 2 was about examining shapes with the same perimeter can have different areas. Investigation 3 was about strategies for finding areas and perimeters of triangles by relating them to rectangles. Investigation 4 was about strategies for finding the area and perimeter of parallelograms. And finally, Investigation 5 was about finding the circumference and area of a circle.
